Tania Frazer OAM

Born in Brisbane, Tania Frazer is recognized as one of Australia's leading artists, a world class solo oboist, artistic director and music arranger and is the Managing Director & Artistic Director of Collectivo.
Tania was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra working closely with Lorin Maazel, Rostropovich, Bernstein, Solti and others. Tania has collaborated with artists such as Jessye Norman, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Barbara Hendricks, Evgeny Kissin, Ida Haendel, Sir Neville Marriner, Richard Tognetti, Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Dawn Upshaw, James Morrison, Slava Grigoryan and Avi Avital. At the age of 21 Tania was invited by the legendary conductor Zubin Mehta to perform with The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under his direction. Tania has also appeared with The Royal Scottish National Orchestra , The Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra among others. Tania was principal oboe of The Australian Chamber Orchestra for five years and principal oboe of The Israel Opera for four years. From 2011-2024 Tania was the Artistic Director of the Southern Cross Soloists in QLD and the Bangalow Music Festival in NSW and the Oboe Soloist of the ensemble from 2001-2024. In 2024 Tania was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) on the Kings Birthday for her contribution to music and the arts. |
