Step into The Garden of Dreams, a program that conjures vivid musical imagery and showcases dazzling virtuosity, performed by Finnish piano soloist and Director of ANAM in Melbourne, Paavali Jumppanen, Principal Violin of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and superstar soloist Satu Vänskä, Peter Clark of the New Zealand String Quartet , Principal Cello of the QSO and audience favorite, Hyung Suk Bae and of course oboist Tania Frazer.
Works by Beethoven, Rossini, Debussy, Ravel, and New Zealand’s Claire Cowan bring stories to life through sound. From Beethoven’s dramatic ‘Pathétique’ Sonata to Cowan’s whimsical Scenes from Hansel and Gretel, this program culminates in Ravel’s fiery Tzigane, bringing the evening to a thrilling close.
