A Feast for the Senses at Thomas Dixon Centre
The Thomas Dixon Centre is not only a cultural hub for the arts, but now also a must-visit food destination in West End, Brisbane. The Centre’s culinary offerings have been elevated by VenuesLive, renowned for managing and catering for some of Australia’s finest venues, in partnership with celebrated chef Shane Delia. A new all-day café called Tom’s Kitchen operates within the Centre, with a bold, produce-driven menu designed for both quick bites and leisurely brunches. With a focus on local ingredients and seasonal flavours, the café caters to everyone—from dancers and creatives to West End locals, professionals, and precinct visitors. A premium restaurant by chef Shane Delia takes guests on an unrestricted spice journey as he champions Queensland produce and draws inspiration from a diverse array of Asian and Middle Eastern influences. Delia’s unique culinary vision and dedication to quality have made his flagship restaurant Maha a fixture of Melbourne's dining scene and extends to his other beloved venues Maha North, Maha East, and Jayda. This is his first Queensland venture, with bold plans for expansion. Housed within the historical, heritage-listed section of the Thomas Dixon Centre, the new premium restaurant sits in a former World War II bunker, with a moody interior of rich materials and sleek finishes to create a sense of intimacy and opulence. Shane Delia’s culinary vision for the restaurant will shape the food and drink offering across the Centre’s Events menu and Catering packages, including for the Centre’s soon-to-open Kite Terrace and Bar for functions of up to 500 people. Event goers can now enjoy world-class hospitality as part of their cultural experience at the Thomas Dixon Centre. |
